We're Drywalled!

I arrived back at Presque Isle to find the house drywalled and ready for the taping, mudding, and sanding which will be the main chore for this coming week.  Here are some photos of the ground floor which you might compare with earlier "bare bones" shots.

Kitchen, from the living room.
Dining area and stairwell
Ground floor guest bedroom
Ground floor full bath
Mud room and service porch entrance
Stairwell, from living room
Living room, from stairwell landing
The rooms upstairs are smaller, which makes it difficult to take photos.  I really need a wide angle lens for these spaces!

Office (stovepipe box at right)
Master bedroom, from master bath
Walk-in closet, in master bath
We had clear, sunny skies today, and the sunlight during the late afternoon really poured into the structure.  That's what is supposed to happen in the winter, and it will generate free heat.  Today, however, the thermostat was set at 79 degrees to help dry out the place in preparation for next week's work.  That, plus the sun, made the house very, very hot!  Moreover, because the house is so heavily insulated, moisture isn't driven out through the walls.  The interior felt like a turkish bath!  I'll try to get some better photos tomorrow.

Happy New Year! •••
