"Let It Snow..."

Kyle and Dave arrived back at Presque Isle this afternoon, just as the storm predicted for today began moving in.  We are supposed to get three inches of snow tonight, perhaps even more.  The guys said the trip north got a bit more exciting at Rogers City when the brakes on Kyle's panel truck failed.  In addition, the plumbing in the cottage they have rented froze up overnight.  But they arrived safely and will start trim work tomorrow.
The guys' vehicles in the driveway, snow falling.
Kyle and Dave checked out the materials stored
in the garage.  Those boxes contain my cabinets!
The photos below show a few details in the house, such as the color of the stain, which will match the color of the cabinetry.  The tone will deepen a bit when the wood is sealed.  Kyle, Dave and I were very pleased with the way Jamie finished the end of the masonry wall, as well as the ceiling where the drywall was custom-fitted to the uneven line of the cement block.  In the third photo, if you look carefully, you will see the treatment given to the ceiling.  (For an enlarged view, click on the photo.)

One of the windows, now stained.

Note how neatly Jamie and his crew
finished off the end of the wall.
Look carefully to see how the ceiling has been finished.
Finally, here's another view of the stairwell, through the door of the master bedroom.  On this level you can look straight outside through the skylight.

The stairwell windows face toward
the morning sun.
By the way, part of the finish work will be installation of the cabinets, which will go in before the hardwood flooring!  You should see some striking changes over the next few days. •••
