Do It Yourself

The original plan was that a crane would appear this morning (Thursday) at 8:00 to lift the trusses for the 2-story section into place.  But yesterday Kyle decided that a do-it-yourself approach would work better.  So, using a rope, the trusses were hauled up and muscled into position, all in about 45 minutes.

Once the trusses were in place, Kyle used the Bobcat to bring a load of plywood over to the south roof and lifted it up to the roofline.  Jose and Dave then brought the plywood in through the window in the future master bedroom.  From there the sheets went up through the rafters to become the roof deck.

Kyle surprised me by noting that yesterday was the ninth day of framing.  I am really pleased with how quickly the work has gone, some rainy days notwithstanding.  The house and garage seem to have sprouted out of the earth like mushrooms!
