Yesterday I watched the live streaming broadcast of the enthronement of the Archbishop of Canterbury at Canterbury Cathedral. Aside from a few stalls for buffering, the feed was flawless with excellent HD video and pretty good sound.

Our British friends have a real flair for ceremonial, as every royal event reminds us. The same approach is evident in religious events like this. There was literally a cast of thousands, if you include the congregation and its lusty singing. The men and boys choir was quite good, and it was fun to watch the choir boys whispering to each other during high liturgical moments. An African drum and dance group provided an unusual gospel procession. Archbishop Justin's sermon fittingly underlined the Church's obligation to serve those in need. The two-hour service spend by!
