Fifty-one years ago today I was in Washington, D.C. to participate in the Inaugural Parade for President John F. Kennedy. A terrible snowstorm nearly paralyzed the city the night before. The military was mobilized to clear snow throughout the night. Both the inauguration and parade went off nearly flawlessly.
I had hoped to find a photo of today's "private" oath-taking, but the White House has not yet put it up on their web site. Maybe tomorrow. If you haven't explored this venue, here's all sorts of interesting photos at the White House web site. Go to:
