During the campaign — which ends today! — the Right has commented about how unfortunate it is that President Obama ended the war in Iraq... that we ought to stay longer in Afghanistan... and that the U.S. ought to take military action against Iran sooner rather than later.

Some perspective may help. America has been at war since September 11, 2001, although active combat began a few weeks later. That means our present war has gone on longer than World War I, World War II, and the Korean War
combined. It's about time we put this behind us, and refrain from rushing into yet another "hot" conflict. •••
