This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3rd and 4th, will be the Olde Fashioned Community Christmas celebration here at Presque Isle. I've been drafted as "official" photographer for the event. Or
events! There's a lot going on throughout the township, from sleigh rides at the New Lighthouse (if there's any snow, and that looks unlikely as of today)... to the Chili Cook-Off at one of our firehouses and ice skating at the other... to the arts and crafts sale at the PIHA clubhouse... to a soup lunch and handbell concert at the Grand Lake Chapel... and much, much more. I'll be all over the township this weekend, making a pest of myself.

| It's Olde Fashioned Christmas time at Presque Isle. |
| The decorations have been pulled out of storage... |
| ...the guys have strung lights around the clubhouse lounge... |
| ...the ladies have decorated the Association's tree... |
...and even the hallway corners have been filled with cheer,
although the lights on this little tree failed to come on! |
Plans for the weekend have been brewing since summer. The Women's Club is the prime mover for the event, with the township offering some financial support. At a recent meeting the planners decided not to invite a local radio station to broadcast live from the scene this weekend, for fear of attracting more people than we can handle. Last year's turnout was so unexpectedly large that we ran out of food halfway through lunch on Saturday! Success can bring problems, too! •••
