One Year Ago (6)

I'm back from Thanksgiving in Chicago with Jon and Helen's daughter Sarah.  Helen found us a very nice hotel — the Comfort Inn and Suites on Ohio — on hotels.com.  The room was quite satisfactory, but I was awakened at 3:00 a.m. by shoppers coming in from their early Black Friday expeditions.  Given the economy, it seems unpatriotic to complain.  Now I have to start muddling through all those smelly boxes.


One year ago, November 22, 2010, the Rycenga truck delivered more building materials, including the long-awaited, back-ordered, more-expensive-than-expected windows for the south and west sides of the building.  Kyle and Dave got to work installing them as soon as they were off the truck.  A couple days later, November 24th, Kyle took time to throw a stick for Teddy, Hap's irrepressible chocolate lab. •••
