Last week, while I was downstate, the plumber did his rough-in, which included placing the showers and tub in the two full baths. Dave had to move a stub wall in the ground floor bath to accommodate the shower unit, which was about three inches wider than we anticipated. We also found that the tub is unfinished on the end, so Dave will build a half-wall, and I have to decide how tall that wall will be.
Yesterday (Friday) I took Sharon and Attila on a quick tour of the house. We looked over what the plumber had done. My only concern is placement of the sink in the ground floor bath. The rest of it looks pretty much according to plan.

The garage doors have been installed, although the openers are still boxed. Now we have locked storage on-site, which will make it easier and safer to store materials. The yellow bands in the photo below are not racing stripes, just protective film!

On Monday the electrician will arrive to start his rough-in. In short order he should be followed by the heating subcontractor. Meanwhile, Kyle has been downstate cutting white oak trees. He will haul the logs to the mill this week where they will be cut, dried, and turned into tongue-and-groove flooring.
Presque Isle has turned chilly over the past few days, especially when the cold is backed by a stiff wind. It was near freezing this morning as I left for Alpena, and yesterday snow pellets accumulated on the ground. That is a sure sign of things to come! However, the coming week's weather is expected to be pleasant — even hitting the high 50s on Wednesday. That will make it easier for the guys to work. •••
