Kyle and Dave arrived back in Presque Isle yesterday. They hauled up a load of white oak logs for the mill, which in due course will become flooring. Another 2-3 loads are still to come. We looked over the plumber's work from last week, and then the guys spent the day framing in the walk-in closet which will serve the master bedroom.

Late in the day a couple local men, recommended by R.J., came by to discuss siding the house. They are currently applying cedar shakes to a large home in the area, but are interested in siding my place. If the price is right, Kyle may use them. These men brought with them a large, sweet brown lab mix by the name of Teddy. As the humans talked, Teddy inspected the second floor and chewed on scraps of wood.

The electrician was expected early yesterday, but problems caused by last week's windstorm held him up. He and his crew arrived this morning. We spent an hour or so talking through where various fixtures will go, where outlets and switches will be located, and how the exterior lights will be mounted. They should be finished with the electrical rough-in this afternoon.
Meanwhile, I'm arranging to move to the rectory at Trinity, Alpena. The house is empty, Maggie and Bruce having moved to their own home. My occupying the rectory for a few weeks would be beneficial to the parish as well as to me. And Sharon and Attila's "permanent guest" will finally leave them in peace! •••
