RSV

Ever wanted to chase down a particular passage in the Bible?  I'm sure there are several online sites that help with this, but over the years the one I've used the most is the searchable Revised Standard Version hosted by the University of Michigan.

Doing a search was easier when Holy Writ consisted

The New Revised Standard Version is generally used in the Episcopal Church, but the older RSV translation is pretty similar to the NRSV.  As a quick way to track down that elusive passage, the U-M site works fairly well.  Go to:

Click on the type of search you wish to do, type in the word or words, and indicate what part of the Bible you are searching.  Away you go!  If the word you're searching on doesn't produce the desired result, try another word in that passage as you remember it.  The more common the word, the more likely you will get a hit. •••
