Typical Spring

Since it's spring here at Presque Isle, we can expect drastic swings in the weather.  Today the forecast calls for a high of 66, but it's already 65 at my house.  We could kiss 70 degrees before the day is out.  Then tonight the temperature will drop into the high 20s.  Thus the intermittent rain we are having today may turn to snow after midnight.  In addition, we are expecting SW winds of 25-35 mph today, with gusts as high as 50.  This is the northern edge of the storm system which played havoc in the Plains over the weekend.  Up here, gusts of high wind can translate into downed tree limbs and power outages.  In short, we're having typical spring weather.

My daffodils are blooming nicely.  The Creator must have been having a really good day when God designed the daffodil!

Meanwhile, the asiatic lilies Nancy and Jim sent last fall broke the surface this weekend.  They start small but grow tall and beautiful as the season matures.

And my grape hyacinth are starting to bloom, too.  Now I have to get ready to plant some daylilies! •••
